I've just came back from The Grasshopper's Forever concert. It is one of the best concerts I've been to.When you watch concerts in Singapore, the production security will forbid you from standing during the performance. However, this time round The Grasshoppers invited us to stand up and dance with them. :)
At the beginning, the crowd were holding back and just swayed their body and arms while sited down. Half way through the concert, The Grasshoppers brought on their dance tracks and everyone around my area stood up and danced and sang with them! I joined them too and it was fun. This made me feel that I was on the stage with them.
Most of the songs in the concert were sang in Cantonese, only a few songs within a medley were in Mandarin, which is surprising as not all of Singaporeans know Cantonese. Although the language might not suit everyone, I felt that everyone enjoyed the concert as much as I did. I spotted an African American (with a Chinese girlfriend I believe) within the crowd and he too stood up and danced with us.
Their dance steps were strong and lively, making it hard to believe that they have aged to their 40s. I am going out to buy their concert VCD tomorrow and relive the excitement. If you have a chance to watch them, do go. It was well worth my $128.
